Kristin Darell

Kristin Darrell

We all have a story to tell. What I love the most is that no two people will tell the same story the same way. Your voice and thoughts are unique. Maybe by sharing a story, you'll inspire someone else to do the same.

Kristin Darell has been a passionate storyteller since she was a child. Whether it was making up adventures with her twin sister, or writing about the world around her, she was rarely found without a pen and paper in hand.

As an adult, she made this passion her life. Her debut junior fiction series ‘Football Fever’ is being released across 2022 and 2023, with book 1 – Football Fever: The Kick-Off out in September 2022.

Before focusing her attention on writing for children, Kristin worked as a broadcast news and sports journalist for major Australian news organisations for more than twenty years. During that time, Kristin reported live from bushfires and other disaster zones, covered court and crime stories, the Winter Olympics, and specialised in the studio production of breaking news.

Kristin is a strong advocate for children’s literature, working as the Program Manager for the Australian Children’s Laureate Foundation. She lives on Sydney’s northern beaches with her husband, two children, two dogs, pet snake and three-legged pygmy bearded dragon.
