More Information

Grays Point Public School is committed to ensuring every student becomes a published author – celebrating their knowledge, creativity, and voice with their community.

Each class has collaboratively created a book where every student contributes writing and illustrations, developing their skills in storytelling, vocabulary, structure, visual literacy, editing, and reflection. Across the school, students honour Country through the respectful inclusion of Dharawal language, recognising its deep significance as a tribute to culture, belonging, and place.

These books were inspired by the Deadly Writing Festival and Littlescribe’s Book Creation Programs, where students learn directly from Australian authors and illustrators.

The program strengthens literacy outcomes, aligns with curriculum expectations, and builds confidence by supporting students through the full writing process – from planning and drafting to editing and publication.

Each book showcases students’ creativity, their connection to Country, and their growing capability as writers, thinkers, and storytellers.
